Study.com is switching to non-proctored and open-book exams

the courses may still maintain ACE accreditation, but that doesn't mean schools have to accept them

It will be a big problem if schools stop accepting them since they are a main source of affordable upper level credit.

Hopefully, there are no changes to institutions accepting this, pretty much the content of the course is the same, it's just the exam medium has changed. So, it shouldn't be affected much at all for ACE recommendation for credit... Well, that's what I believe, let's see what happens, they're going the way of Sophia.org with a different type of medium for proctoring, Sophia has plenty of classes that are ACE.

Does anyone have any insight as to why they're changing this? I've seen some Study.com ambassadors posting here in the past, not sure if they're still around here

I'm not a big fan of this change, it makes Study.com look less credible. Proctoring is essential for online courses, especially in this day of AI.

I agree proctoring is the only safety check left against cheating.

I feel like proctoring gave me an incentive to study more intensely. Now I know I will pass no matter what. Although, you have to pay attention to succeed in your career either way.

I don't like this change, personally. I would be worried about how it would affect the viability of the credit. It sure didn't do Shmoop any good

The only thing this means is that you can now take notes either you to your test and use them during the test and you no longer will be recorded via video during your exam, it doesn't mean you get more courses or exams or the pricing changes.
