Looking for Radiology, Biophysics or UL Physics credits
#1
Hi everyone!

I'm studying Physics, with a concentration on Nuclear Physics and Biophysics in an Asian country and I cannot continue studying for a personal reason right now. I consulted with the academic office in my university and they agree to transfer in any valid credits, as long as they are credit-bearing from an accredited university. So I'm looking for radiology, nuclear medicine, upper-level physics-related credits. I already completed basic physics, so I don't need them anymore.

It could be US credits, ECTS or any other country.

Because it is an informal arrangement (kind of RPL), my university also agree to accept a few non-credit bearings courses as long as they indicated how many hours the course is. But it should not be a dominant source.

Here is what I've found so far:

Credits Bearing
3 credits APS-289-TE Radiation Safety Officer (TECEP)
1 credit APS-100-TE Medical Terminology (TECEP)

Non-credits bearing (including CPD)
Edinburgh Imaging Academy, The University of Edinburgh

Any suggestion is welcomed Smile

Maybe look into Excelsior College. They have an online Nuclear Engineering degree.

These aren't generally courses that you can find inexpensively. Check the sources listed on https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Obscure_Credits to see if there are any that will work for you.

Too bad your focus isn't in astronomy because the American Public University System has several of those courses.

What about physical chemistry? Energy and Thermochemistry, Entropy and Equilibria, and Electrochemistry are transcripted at TESU based on the Chemistry EdX microbachelors program.

You could hand your university a TESU transcript and say no more about the matter, since it is 8 upper level credits that look like they were taken at TESU. TESU are the transcripting partner, so they are not transfer credits to TESU.

Alternatively, since your university said some non-credit are also fine, you could be upfront about the EdX to TESU relationship - since the course provider on EdX is Harvard. Maybe your uni will like that  Blush

Ask for financial aid from EdX and the microbachelors program is less than 30 dollars a course.

For other Physics related: https://www.conted.ox.ac.uk/courses/the-...O21P760ASW a nice quantum physics intro. CATS points are the UK version of credits. The course does give them. Kind of expensive though. Course is online with mandatory lectures using Microsoft teams, so you can get the "I studied a class at Oxford" study abroad experience in real time Wink

Actually, I think that edX credits do show up as transfer credits. So I don't think that just handing over a TESU transcript with the edX course would work without context.

It will show up as "TESU assessment credit." I don't know why edX thought this was a good idea. The TESU transcript makes it clear which credits are institutional and which are not. I remember when other companies formed partnerships with Excelsior for their One Transcript thinking that schools will accept transfer credits off of it.

@OP, which Asian country is this? It seems you haven't come back on for the last month or so to update the thread... By knowing more of where you're at, your home country may already have online options or blended learning.
