TEL Library?
#1
Okay, so TEL Library is running a Cyber Monday special for 10% off one college credit course:

Coupon Code

Which brings me to the question of the day - what is TEL Library? Anybody ever heard of this? Do these credits transfer anywhere?

Tel Library

CM2018 is the code btw and the courses are $75.

I’ve never heard of them. Their FAQ says their courses are transcripted through Excelsior. I don’t see anything that maps the courses back to any other college or courses. Looks like they do video proctoring at home.

That seems very interesting. I Definitely like the idea of more cheap options. I'm not sure if other schools like tesu would accept the credits, though.

They don't offer anything yet that is really worth worrying about but if they add that Latin 1 and Intro to Christianity then it might be worth checking them out

I'm still not clear on how their accreditation or whatever works(haven't found any mention of Ace or NCCRS) beyond just having an excelsior partnership. So it's not yet clear if these courses will be useful anywhere besides excelsior.

I did find in the FAQs that this is their planned rollout of future courses:

Fall 2018
U.S. History 2
American Literature
Language and Composition
Macroeconomics
World Civilizations
Introduction to Communication
Psychology
Philosophy of Life
Student Success (1 hr.)
Latin 1
Old Testament
Introduction to Christianity
Quantitative Analysis 2
Spanish 1
U.S. History 1
Physical Science
Biology (with lab)
American Government
Career Foundations 1-3
Physical Science (with lab)
Microeconomics
Summer 2019
Basic Workforce Readiness
Introduction to Computer Systems
and Technology
Latin 2
Spring 2020
Quantitative Literacy 1
Biblical Greek 1
Spanish 2
Biology
Fall 2019
Biblical Greek 2
Spring 2019*
Developmental Writing
Principles of Management
Literature and Composition
Sociology
Entrepreneurship/Introduction to Business
U.S. History 2
New Testament
(I copy and pasted a grid and then hit tab after each course to make it easier to read, so the order is probably completely wrong)

A lot of these are more of the same but there are some new unique offerings. Particularly those lab science courses(if they can keep the cost down).
