Thomas Edison State College | Learner Designed Area of Study (LDAS)
I apologize if this has already been posted, but I came across TESC's LDAS program today on their website. It looks similar to Charter Oak's Individualized Study option where one can create a degree concentration tailored to their needs. Has anyone done this with a BA/BS yet?

Just following up:
Today I learned that the BA/BS degrees in LDAS require the Liberal Arts Capstone course, although the BSAST and BSBA degrees in LDAS do not list capstone requirements. I'm not sure if this is a new requirement (I had never seen it in the literature before today), but it has really put a damper on my husband's BS in LDAS application. :puke:

Could it be that they're just a little stricter with the LDAS because they don't want it to be a degree where people just lump all of their random credits together to get the quickest bachelors degree possible?
Not that I'm saying that your husband is doing this.. but I could see how students would want to do this.
Could he perhaps switch to liberal arts instead? What are his degree goals as they relate to either career advancement or graduate studies?

Probably. I just wish they would post
all of the LDAS degree rules and requirements like they do for other programs. I had to dig and dig to find that information. :toetap:

At this point, it looks like he could do a BA in LDAS with his engineering credits and some new credits in business and management. They told him he couldn't do a BS in LDAS with those credits, which makes no sense to me. This would likely be 6-7 CLEP/ DSST exams plus the capstone.
Or he could do a BA in Liberal Studies, which would be 11 CLEP/ DSST exams.
