TESC "Must include at least two subject areas" Question.
#1
My Question revolves around the "Other Natural Science" credit and whether I am meeting the "Must include at least two subject areas" requirement.

from BSBA Degree Outline:

D. Natural Sciences and Mathematics 9 cr.
■Precalculus Mathematics or Quantitative Analysis (ALEKS Trig) -TESC designation MAT-129
■Principles of Statistics (ALEKS Intro Stats) -TESC designation STA-201
■Other natural sciences (ALEKS College Algebra) -TESC designation MAT-121
Must include at least two subject areas

It seems logical that Principles of Statistics would count as the second subject area and that therefore MAT-121 would satisfy both of the above requirements. Is this true?

From what I've read around these forums, ALEKS Statistics does not transfer for credit to TESC. You must take Statistics through either DSST or Straighterline. I am not sure about Trig or Algebra, though.

I may be mistaken, but I think what you read referred to aleks intro stats and bus. stats both transferring to TESC as STA-201, they duplicate each other.

Also, at least based on my various versions of TESC evaluations, I believe Statistics would be considered as MATH, for Allyisgood's question, so there are basically 3 math courses there.

I am a newbie, so just figuring things out myself, so my advice comes with a few grains of salt.

From my readings on this forum, there is no longer an ALEKS equivalent for TESC's STA-201, which is Principles of Statistics at TESC. Do pass out of that class, it must be done only through DSST or Straighterline. Again, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Sam, can you post a link to your info? This is all I can find:

http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...iness.html

Basically says TESC no longer accepting for UL credit, and, intro to stat and bus. Stat duplicate and both transfer as STA-201 which is not UL but LL. Evidentally, TESC used to transfer these as diffrent courses, with one as an upper level.
Don't mean to argue, just can't find what you are saying, and looking for clarification.

You are wrong as was stated yesterday too by Tasman and sanantone in this thread.

Bipolarguy, yes, that is how it is shown on my BSBA eval., however, other degrees, BA in art and I think Liberal Stud. for example, it goes under 'Other Natural Science and Math' like the OP shows in the original post and the original question was: in this instance, is it considered a different subject than Math, or is it considered a Math course?
