TESU BALS Graduation requirements
#1
Is there a minimum number of credits you need to take from TESU for them to confer a BALS degree?

I have 28 more credits left to take and have enrolled in TESU:  17 Electives, 6UL, 1 Cornerstone and 3 Capstone.

Can I still  transfer in external credits?

If you're paying the residency waiver fee, you only need to take the 3cr capstone.

If you want to avoid the waiver fee, you need 16 credits TESU credits.

16cr x $499/cr (oos) = $7,984. It's cheaper to do the Comprehensive Tuition Plan ($6,350 with the Study.com affiliate membership discount, if you enroll by 6/30/18).

Yes you can still transfer in external credits.  The only course you have to take from TESU is the Capstone.  However, if you take less than 16 credits directly with TESU you will have to pay the residency waiver (currently at $2500 out of state, or $1800 if you've take a Study.com course for credit).   Most on this forum transfer in as much as possible & pay the residency waiver; but not all.

The credits you transferred in are they all from a B&M school, or alternative source credits (like CLEP, Straighterline, Study.com etc)?

Only the 3 credit capstone absolutely needs to be taken at TESU. You can transfer in the other 117cr for your BALS. The cornerstone is normally required to be taken there as well, but can be waived with the Study.com affiliation.

Thanks for your explanation.
Most are B&M,  10 Alt Source -
but why pay more than I must?

Exactly. For most cases, paying the residency waiver is the cheapest path. The only folks who should opt for earning the 16 credits to make residency are those who need courses they can't get cheap elsewhere.

I think you just saved me a buck or two.  Thanks!

I would recommend planning to take your capstone before June as the price will be going up. With a study.com discount the tuition is only $1098. You don't have much left and can take the capstone anytime. They don't check your credits.

How do I take advantage of the study.com discount? Need to get my capstone in and might as well do it this year.

I signed up using the TESU code, but I don't know what to do next.
