Not really sure, but I think it came out April of this year in regards to that. For yourself, you should check your evaluation from TESU.
If you're enrolled prior to the change, you should be subject to whichever year you enrolled and may not need the GPA requirement.

I looked on my academic evaluation and it shows that my GPA requirement is completed. Thank you!

Hi, I am new to this. I am currently working on my BSBA in Marketing through TESU as well. In regards to the GPA, do I have to take a course with them if I plan to test out of everything? I am only doing 4 exams with TESU, the rest will be through other testing companies. I appreciate any insight you can provide. Thanks.

Are you already enrolled? If not, you'll be subject to the new cornerstone course which will give you a GPA.
Some members have been told they need a GPA. I enrolled in March and have no GPA requirement.

I think there may be some issues with this. First of all, you need a TESU GPA, an English Comp GPA, and an AOS GPA. The cornerstone will give you the TESU GPA, but testing out completely of the English and AOS will NOT give you a GPA. I'm wondering if you will have to take the UExcel English Comp ($500) or take a course at your local CC to get that? Same with the AOS - you will have to take at least 1 course somewhere that gives a grade (UExcel or CC).
I know someone said in a previous thread that they thought that the P or CR grades would count, but TESU does not compute those as a GPA. Here's the wording on the website about this:
Credit Without a Letter GradeThomas Edison State University will transcript credit (CR) without a letter grade for the following: Prior Learning Assessment (PLA); e-PackÂ; all testing programs (including TECEPÂ), business, industry and corporate training programs evaluated and recommended for credit by the American Council on Education (ACE) or National CCRS; military training programs evaluated and recommended for credit by the American Council on Education (ACE); licenses, special programs and registries evaluated and recommended for credit by Thomas Edison State University; and credits from foreign universities.
Credits earned are automatically applied to Thomas Edison State University degree programs for enrolled students, but are not calculated into the GPA.
I think this is something that was overlooked when we were all seeing the changes on April 1st.
While this is not an issue for me (I have an English Comp GPA and an AOS GPA from previous sources), this would be very interesting to find out for anyone who was not enrolled on April 1st and planned on testing out of everything. It would be good to know if they needed to take a couple of graded courses.

And yet their transfer equivalency charts still show CLEP as satisfying the English requirements. I don't think the language above is much different than past language. I'm trying to track down an archived version of the policy

Here's the July 2015 policy from the last catalog:
Quote:Credit Without a Letter Grade
Thomas Edison State University will transcript credit (CR) without a letter grade for the following: prior learning assessment (PLA); e-PackÂ; all testing programs including TECEPÂ; business, industry and corporate training programs evaluated and recommended for credit by the American Council on Education (ACE) or National CCRS; military training programs evaluated and recommended for credit by the American Council on Education (ACE); licenses, special programs and registries evaluated and recommended for credit by Thomas Edison State University; and credits from foreign universities. Credits earned are automatically applied to Thomas Edison State University degree programs for enrolled students, but are not calculated into the GPA.
No change there

The change was made to the graduation requirements, see here: Thomas Edison State University: Graduation Information
Before there weren't anything listed at the bottom for the undergrad and graduate levels, now it requires a 2.0 and 3.0 GPA.

It's unclear if a CLEP or similar test out option will satisfy that, though the fact that their CLEP equivalency chart still signals the test will meet the ENG requirements leads me to believe they will accept it same as always.
