Does anyone know what the required credits are in "II. Area of Study: Biology?" I can't seem to find them on the website.
#2
Biology II with lab, 3 credits of biology electives, and the rest of the credits have to be theory (A&P, Microbiology, etc.). I think what they mean by theory is that the course has to be foundational. Science of Nutrition and Pathophysiology would be bio electives.

I have credit for Bio 1 with lab and Bio 2 with lab which is 8 credits. Do you know any online options that offer a way to complete the remaining 8 credits?

Bio I with lab will likely go in gen ed. SL has Micro, A&P I and II, and Nutrition. Uexcel has Nutrition, Pathophysiology, A&P (6 credit and 3 credit exams), and Micro. TECEP has Nutrition. I think there might be a couple of other options for Science of Nutrition. If you're looking for traditional, online courses, then I recommend NMJC and Clovis unless your local CCs are cheaper.

Yeah, Bio I with Lab would be Gen Eds and not count for your 16 credits.

Study.com has Microbiology, A&P I, Pathophysiology, and Genetics which I believe count.

Mind me asking, I was just wondering, where did you take Bio II with lab? I am thinking of Clovis and NMJC if I can't find anything cheaper.

You can do the following: Straighterline - A&P I+II, Microbiology, Nutrition and you're done (I did all of these).
I am missing the Bio II with Lab (as I intend to take Genetics and Pathophysiology at Study.com for extra Bio credits)

This reminds me that Uexcel also has Basic Genetics.

Dose anyone know how TESU treats psych-bio courses?

bjcheung77 Wrote:Mind me asking, I was just wondering, where did you take Bio II with lab?

I completed Bio 1 and 2 with labs at my local state college.

I would assume most transfer courses for Pathophysiology would come in the same.
Example: If it's taken at Study.com, it comes in as follows as upper level at TESU:
Study.com Biology 106: Pathophysiology - TESU UL BIO-316 : Pathophysiology 3 credits.

And if you were curious on their Genetics courses as well (they have two!):
Study.com Biology 102: Basic Genetics - BIO-241 : Human Genetics 3 credits.
Study.com Genetics 101: Intro to Genetics - BIO-241 : Human Genetics 3 credits.

I took my biology sciences through Ocean County College and Harvard University's Continuing Ed option.

Ocean has 100/200 level - they have everything already mentioned plus bio-based ecology and marine biology. All are with lab, so 4 cr. each for any bio you take with them. The labs are home based, not virtual. When you search, you'll see that they have so many options for length that it can be a little confusing. In a nutshell, they have full semesters and accelerated semesters that are half of a full.

Harvard has an undergraduate-graduate level catalog. The way it works, is you pay according to what you want (undergrad/grad) and the syllabus is adjusted accordingly. TESU will take their graduate level courses and assign them upper level automatically. Since you're working on your associates, you may not WANT upper level bios, but I'm just throwing that in so you know. I have never taken an undergrad, so I don't know how they'd assign numbers for that. Harvard has tons of non lab bios online or on campus, but ALL ARE 4 CREDITS, so it's a little extra credit without the lab! On campus courses meet 1/week (if you're close enough) or for 2 weeks in January (if you love chin deep snow). I did mine online. I'm copy/pasting their current list because it's JUST SO DIFFERENT than what the standard online offerings are through regular 2 year colleges, you might find something you like. ALL are open-enrollment. No transcripts required, just register and pay. Undergrad courses are $1400 ($350/cr).
