Thank you!

I turn 45 in a couple of days and it has me in a reflective mood. Not in a bad way, I feel rather blessed and thankful to God for all the things I have. I tell this to my family and even my co-workers and employees but it's been awhile since I told this group.

I really don't recall how I found my way here. Probably while kicking the tires on TESC. Like so many, I had this idea that all my crazy misplaced credits should somehow add up to a degree and I ended up in here asking newb questions and getting amazing responses from folks who knew the ropes. Made a big impression.

Anyways, thanks for everything you folks have done for me. The kind and patient way of this forum keeps me coming back over and over again.

I appreciate you....

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Nothing like hitting the "midlife" point to make you reflect! I hit it in November, and decided I was going to graduate before I turned 46, and I'm just 4 1/4 classes away...definitely doing it by September.

I too appreciate this forum, I like the people that have been here a while, and then getting the questions from the newbies to make me remember what it was like to be one too. One of my favorite places to be on the web!

This is a warm, accepting, and supportive place. The amount of knowledge on all things educational on this site is amazing. The willingness of so many to pay it forward is heartwarming, too. I'd probably first learned about distance learning 30 years ago with one of Dr. Bear's books, but I didn't get it. I can't even remember how I stumbled across this site;I may have come here from Lawrie Miller's BA in 4 Weeks. Online degrees by distance learning. BA degree and graduate degees - Accelerated Master Degrees by Distance Learning.. Was I one of the folks who got my degree in 5 minutes before I turned 17? Nope, but I've got it. Truly, while I could have taken tests, courses, etc., I could not have gotten my degree without the outreach from the forum members. Passit1 was happy to have her unmarried and married names on her diploma, in part, to acknowledge her father. They couldn't have made a diploma big enough for me to list all of the names of the folks here who played a part in my degree.

I'm glad you feel that way. It's great. And when you get to 73, where I am, who knows? You might have even more reasons to feel grateful - like grandchildren! I wish you well.

Besides, now that you're a moderator, if people are impatient and unkind, just zap them Wink
