$400,000 in student loans, only makes $26k a year
#1
Fair warning, this story jumps all over the place.

The headline suggests that the protagonist is surviving on only $26,000 in Long Beach, CA, which is misleading since her bills are split with her part-time working husband. They also receive government assistance such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

It's revealed later in the story that the $26,000 she makes annually is after spending $400,000 on her education, including a bachelor's degree, grad school, and law school. Additionally, she had a $2.5 million dollar net worth and even owned her own home at one point, but lost it all.

Overall, the story is a tragedy of education and personal finance. Despite spending a considerable amount on education, she is making very little money. Losing all her wealth is another setback.

However, the protagonist's positive attitude is inspiring. Despite all the setbacks, she is living her best life.

If this is the video that I watched on YouTube, she is purposely making that much so her loans will be forgiven

Yes, I believe you're right. I forget exactly what she said, but it was something along the lines that it was mathematically better to make less and get the loans forgiven than to pay them off.
