Transfer all the FEMA credits for $40?
#1
I just registered with the ACE (American Council on Education) website for their transcript service-free to register- and it appears that they have evaluated and assigned course #s to all the FEMA credits. I think I am going to try to transfer my Fema credits to Excelsior through this, I did a search there for FEMA, and it came up under "National Emergency Management Institute" , so since the main problem so far with these "raw" credits is to get them evaluated and assigned course numbers, wouldn't this be a viable option? I only have 16 of the fema classes complete, and with the time to get them transcripted and transferred, I didn't want wait to share this possibility with all of you.

Hmmmm, very interesting indeed!

This is incredible news having all FEMA courses being ACE reviewed and approved so this may indeed prove to be yet another cost-savings step (A BIG SAVINGS) in getting these virtually free credits into a students transcript.

Let's hope that EC sees it the same way too!

Looks like the on-campus courses, and not the independent study courses, are ACE evaluated. Bummer.

Yeah, sorry to get everyone's hopes up. But it was a little confusing, cause the course title would say : State Disaster Management(e-208), but the Independant study version is IS-208 State Disaster Management. So I got confused. Ah well. I still think it's interesting to see which seminars are ACE approved. Pretty much if you've ever had to attend one it's worth some credit. If my company weren't going out of business I'd try and talk ny Human Resource lady into sending me to one of those...
And if anyone were putting together a portfolio assessment this would be a good place to find sample course descriptions, so maybe it's not a worthless resource. Sorry I spoke too soon!
