Transfer credits Degree path/plan build PLEASE help?
#1
Hey guys,

Recently discovered this forum, awesome source BTW and thank you to all those who've taken the time to furnish all the great research already.

I have been at my job for going on 3 years, while management eagerly has wanted and promised me a promotion the only thing holding me back is a Bachelor's is required to come on in any different position with the company. Based on the research I've done on here a Bachelors in Business Admin seems to be the easiest which is what alot of people have said. I would be willing to get a degree in something else if my transfer credits would make it easier to graduate with that degree path.

I have some previous credits from community college and stupidly dropped out, and I have some military background which I have a Joint Services Transcript which converts military training to ACE credits. I was wondering if some of the veteran forum people could take a look and recommend a degree plan that gets this done the fastest and would be best. I have no interest in completing an AA, just straight to BA.
I have the following already:
(Credits earned from Community College)
American History - 3 credits
Western Civ I - 3 credits
Western Civ II - 3 credits
English Comp I - 3 credits
English Comp II - 3 credits
Pre-Algebra - 3 credits
Sociology Principles - 3 credits
Psychology General - 3 credits
Social Problems - 3 credits
Psychology Youth - 3 credits
American National Government - 3 credits
Total - 30 credits
(Joint Services Transcript - ACE evaluated credits from military)
Personal Community Health - 1 credit
Personal Conditioning - 1 credits
Health and Wellness - 2 credits
Patrol Procedures/Operation/Techniques or Criminal Investigation & Evidence - 3 credits
Nautical Science (Navigation) - 3 credits
Nautical Science (Seamanship) - 3 credits
Basic Criminal Investigation - 3 credits
Communications - 3 credits
Criminal Behavior - 3 credits
Criminal Evidence And Procedures - 3 credits
Principles Of Supervision - 3 credits
Introduction Emergency Management - 1 credits
Introduction To Terrorism - 1 credits
Leadership - 3 credits
Principles Of Management - 3 credits

Can somebody help me piece this together and give me some advice? You guys are awesome once again, thanks. Willing open to any school degree just need the damn piece of paper!

First of all, go take ALEKS Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, and Statistics right now (before they expire on 2/28/17. Search the forum for efficient ways to complete those courses. Your Pre-Algebra will not count for college credit.

I know you have the ACE credit values from your JST, but try running your courses through TESU's military services portal. It should give you an idea of the fastest degree for you to complete (TESU often interprets JST transcripts generously). Post your results if you'd like and we can advise on the things you would need to complete.

And thank you for your service!

I did a plan for the TESU BSBA, and then one for the TESU BSPS, of which I know less about. You end up using more of your credits that way, but it's still more expensive because you have to take the capstone online for $1500 (vs. being able to take the Business capstone as a TECEP exam for $114), plus you will need a couple of courses which are a little more expensive than the BSBA.

That being said, if you would enjoy having some flexibility in the degree, the BSPS allows you to take some courses that the BSBA doesn't (or doesn't make you take some courses that the BSBA does).

I am also unfamiliar with the BSPS in that I don't know if the courses they list in each area are specific, or if there is some flexibility in there. For instance, your Intro to Supervision and Principles of Management are not listed anywhere on the list of courses you need to take (even in Supervision or Business). Did they overlook those? Will they allow them? I'm just not sure. You would just have to apply for the BSPS to see what they did with your credits if you were interested in taking the degree, and then ask some questions.

My plan has 2 pages - the 2nd page is the BSPS degree.
