Transfering credit from SL or Study.com to TESU. Do grades transfer too?
#1
When you transfer your credit from an online course SL or Study.com does the grade you get on the course apply to your overall GPA at TESU?

Thanks in advance.

They should just come in as credit or not into your degree plan. Those letter grades don't come over.
In order to get a TESU letter grade, you have to take the course from them. Do you need a letter grade?

I need letter grades to increase my GPA of the transferred credits I received. I guess I have 2 options I can take a TESU course and offset the lower grade or retake the course.

TESU will not be using the grades of your transferred credits for GPA. So you don't Smile

TESU courses are about $1500 Sad

That just doesn't make sense! Your GPA will be from all your sources combined.
Most if not all ACE/NCCRS credits as well as CLEP/DSST/TECEP are without a letter grade.
The cheapest/best way to bump that GPA up is from your community college courses.
It doesn't matter if you end up with TESU, if you really need a grade from them, take their cornerstone for 1 credit.

If you take the cornerstone and get an A do you graduate with a 4.0 and summa cum laude? Just wondering if it would be worth it. Thanks!

Your TESU transcript will show a 4.0, but it will also show the GPA is based off one class and anyone who actually cares about your GPA will see what's going on and won't be fooled.

And any graduate school you go to who cares about your GPA will want ALL transcripts, not just TESU, and they'll recalculate your GPA.

The Cornerstone doesn't have a letter grade. It's CR (credit received) on the evaluation.

Ok because the letter grades showed on my academic evalulation. I was under the assumption they would apply towards my GPA. Glad to hear they don't!
