Unimarconi Master via ENEB Thread
#41
Ignore the coursework. This will be validated at the end, probably when they evaluate your program completion. The exams are scheduled periodically, similar to ENEB's "Agile Methodology", so you'll have to wait for a window. In the mean time just do the Final Master's "Thesis" (single project) for now.

All the above info is listed here https://eneb.com/accreditationusd/ . Extracts below.

  1. Submit the evaluative activity for each subject. (You can validate common subjects and, if you have already graduated, skip this step).
  2. Submit the Final Master's Thesis.
  3. Take the final multiple-choice exam.
Is there a specific exam schedule?

Yes. Exam dates are published on the campus 2 months in advance, with several opportunities throughout the year. The exam is taken online in webinar format with your camera on, includes 135 multiple-choice questions drawn from a bank of 270, lasts 2 hours, carries no penalty for mistakes, and allows you to use your notes. You have up to 9 months to take it with full flexibility.

It says on the actual program pages

That one can pass each of the 9 subjects by submitting a final course project (TFA) or a "specifc exam (option available with change of methodology)". So final projects for 9 modules, no different than other programs, or some type of exam (maybe for each module if that option is selected, sounds like it's an extra charge)
It alludes to there being a comprehensive Final exam after the 9 modules have been passed. There's is also a Master's Final Project after (which is module 10).

What was delivered were all the modules that need to be completed, and a Master's Final Project that is 18 pages max. It's not a bad deal, actually, because the final projects are not hard to do. This Master's Final Project looks pretty much like a final project for a single module.

"Each of the nine subjects can be passed by submitting a Final Course Project (TFA) or, if you prefer, by taking a specific exam (option available with change of methodology). Once completed, you will take a decisive step: the comprehensive Final Exam, with questions covering the entire program, thus ensuring a solid, comprehensive understanding of the content."

"To complete your training, you will prepare your Master’s Final Project (MFP), the perfect opportunity to apply what you have learned and plan your professional development."

I expect that those subjects will be validated at the end. Its similar to what just happened with me with the UNISEB program. My portal didn't show a validation for a particular course. I spent time doing a project for it, submitted and received a grade, only for the grade not to count because the subject was then validated on completion of the program.

I understand what you mean that there can be some mixup in transfer credits, but this seems a little different.

UNISEB:
Business Plan ENG at UNISEB was supposed to be a Module that was not to be transferred, but a new module to do, via an 8-question multiple choice exam.
Not too long after commencement, after the assignment was submitted, it got excluded from the grade.  There were no module exams, but a final one that could be taken after 3 months, and the alternative was to do final projects for each module, do the questionnaires, and mark as complete the video content.

ENEB to Unimarconi:
The modules previously completed at ENEB were to be recognized, so no further study would be needed. That's what the video says.  It also says that one would be enrolled at Unimarconi, implying that the coursework would be done at Unimarconi, not at ENEB.

The login shows 9 fresh modules and a Master's Final Project.

Sure, maybe they'll update them and say you've already passed the 9 modules, that's a possibility too..
This looks like ENEB is the teaching centre still, so there will be ENEB on the Unimarconi Transcript.

I've attached a sample of what it could resemble.

Thanks for sharing the transcript.

Also a reminder that it wasn't a requirement for one to be an ENEB graduate in order to take advantage of the the Unimarconi offer. The offer was to "convert your program". If you still need to complete the coursework you'll simply do it under the Unimarconi program. If you've already completed some "similar" courses, those will be validated (I say "similar" based on what was said earlier about the subjects looking totally different from the ENEB subjects but hey, we leave that up to the "experts"). And if you've already graduated, you're exempted from the coursework component entirely. I would assume that's why the coursework is still open, even on your profile as a graduate. Your program screen probably looks like everyone else's. They'll likely resolve it on a case by case basis upon completion.

At least that's my interpretation of the following step of the promo material.
  1. Submit the evaluative activity for each subject. (You can validate common subjects and, if you have already graduated, skip this step).
I agree with you that this can be confusing, especially for those who lead have partly completed through ENEB - How would they know which subjects to do and which ones not to?

ENEB should have sorted out the validations upfront.

Thus far the format appears to be different from what was advertised, but this is still ENEB. "Ooops, me makes the mistake" and the whole back end changing a week from now would be par for the course. Likewise, "Oh, you still have to do the 12,000 word thesis, I'll add that to campus for you" after completing everything I can see now would not surprise me. I would also not be surprised if ENEB figured it would be a minimum of 1200 words per module and multiplied it by 10 to come up with 12,000 words and is going to ctlc+c ctrl+v all 10 modules together to make a "thesis" for Unimarconi.

I would be more taken aback by ENEB appearing to administer the whole thing if I had not come across Aicad. There doesn't appear to be any difference in content between the Aicad propio master and the Unimarconi official master through Aicad. We filled out official Unimarconi paperwork so I'm not concerned about not getting an official degree and transcript from Unimarconi without ENEB's name on it. I'm not confident enough to make a prediction on when, but eventually? Yeah, that will get worked out. I didn't zoom in to check, but I think ENEB and Aicad use the same Unimarconi stock photo for the Unimarconi transcript and diploma.

I had concerns about most of my courses having a grade of "conv" on them hurting the evaluation, so none of my courses transferring isn't the worst thing in the long run, just not what I was expecting. The biggest punch to the gut is that I wanted to do the Walsh DBA because I WANTED to do it, not because I needed the academic letters of recommendation to get into another doctoral program.

edit: Shot an email off to see what ENEB thinks of slammX's take on things. I asked specifically if my 10 scores from ENEB will show up as 10s on the Unimarconi transcript and said if that is not the case I will do the work rather than have my transcript filled with "conv" grades.

Excellent point about the "conv" on the transcript. Makes me actually want to do the full program instead. Otherwise it would be good to know how they will actually treat this. Either the original ENEB grades will transfer. Otherwise they did say that the 135 question final exam was comprised of 15 questions per subject, so maybe the score for each subset of 15 questions gives the grade for that subject. I'm probably overthinking it.

I guess I'm glad my registration is delayed. I can wait and see what happens on your end so I can prepare myself for potential disappointment.  Angel

Did you mean ENEB? Or are you referring to your UNISEB program purchased through ENEB being incorrectly described by ENEB?

I got some clarification from ENEB.

On the courses in each degree: Even though the courses I took for Big Data are completely different from what I see now, my previous work was accepted by Unimarconi to fulfill the coursework requirement for the degree. I have the option to redo them and get new grades on the Unimarconi transcript. I did not receive a direct answer as to whether convalidating the credit from my ENEB degree will result in getting the same grade I got at ENEB or if it will say "conv" or "exempt" or "transfer" or something similar, so I asked again. The default option is to go with the convalidation. You will have to let academy know you want to redo the courses for new grades. It is more important to me for my transcript to be usable for further academic study than it is to get out of 150-160 pages of writing. It sounds like everyone here shares that opinion.

On the final project: It was confirmed that what we see now is THE final project and there isn't a separate 12,000 word thesis that will need to be done later. The part about the thesis being 12,000 words has been removed from the sales page. Based on conflicting email responses over the last week there appears to have been a miscommunication about something between ENEB and Unimarconi which is now resolved.

On the comprehensive exam: You have to finish all of the modules if they don't transfer/you are choosing to redo them and complete the final project before you will be able to take the comprehensive exam. You will make an appointment to take the exam and there are no dates available at this time. It is expected to be available sometime next year. The wording used gave me the impression that the comprehensive exam is given and proctored by Unimarconi directly and Unimarconi is still making the final decisions/preparations for it.

Yes, I was describing how the recent UNISEB Convalidation experience did not match up at all with the PDFs that ENEB provided on how the program would be delivered. It's all done now and I am very happy so it's no big deal
