University of AZ: Are these 10-wk Business Analytics Cert Courses Worth the $?
#1
Need some advice, please.
I just finished a bachelor's degree at UMPI in Business Admin with Project Mgmt and Info Sys.  I am waiting for the degree conferral from UMPI.
Meanwhile, I am unemployed and actively searching for a job as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst at a bank or credit union.  I will need to begin making payments on my student loan in July.  So far, I haven't had any interview calls.  I am beginning to apply for administrative assistant positions because I'm afraid I will not find a job.

I am interested in this 10-week online Business Analytics certification course hosted through my hometown b&m school, the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ (hosted through a company called GreenFig).  Cost is $2,450, which is pricey.  It is almost the same price as two sessions at UMPI!  I would literally have to charge it to my credit card.
My thought process is that a certification from my local university may improve my chances of securing an interview, and I am also interested in learning Tableau.  The course package offers one-year online access to a Tableau cert course.
Has anyone taken any of these types of certification courses through their local universities?  I know Arizona State University in Phoenix (Tempe), AZ is also offering something similar.
Here is a link with info on the University of Arizona course: Business Analytics Science      This is the syllabus.

I would love to hear any comments/opinions on this course, or suggestions for an alternative or a similar online certification course that isn't as pricey?

Three things 1) There is a difference between certificate and certification, most of the ones you'll come across are going to be certificates such as this one here, it's not a certification in something - I get that confused often myself.

2) You're not employed and have student loans, your best option is to do something very similar, HarvardX Data Science Professional Certificate for FREE, it would be about half the price of this current program if you pay for it...

3) Depending on your energy, money, time constraints, you can decide to go for 'more' professional certificates from Coursera or Edx, they've got many cheapies/freebies, here are two links for you to review.

I have no idea about the effect of certificate from local university on chances of securing an interview, but if you are after certificates, price-wise Coursera seems to be still available for $199 for 1 year (50% discount).
