Upper Level credit

I read a post from an Army retiree a week or two back which said ACE awarded upper level credits for the US Army experience in aviation maintenance.

After 25 years in the Air Force and having run every size organization in aviation maintenance: heavies, fighters, headquarters, and flightline…I’d like to receive a few upper level credits. Appreciate anything you can offer. I think while the CCAF is a great tool it also holds back on the level of credit becuase they are limited to a lower level college credit source for awarding credit.

Has anyone received upper level credit for AF experience in the aviation field?

While I am not an aviator, I got my paltry 6 UL credits from a leadership school (which went towards my Proffessional credits). I would check and see if any of your leadership school credits granted by the AF were underwritten with any local colleges for some extra cred. I was stuck with this as I had to knock out all 21 with ECE and Dantes exams. I did it in 5 weeks (with one prior UL Dantes) taking 2 tests during one week, all on an AF base. By the time you get those credits to transfer in, you probably could be done with the whole thing. This is VERY doable with IC. I took mostly the Psych courses with ECE and the rise and fall of the USSR (toughest of the bunch).

Was the leadership school you attended with the AF? For me, the CCAF evaluated the leadership schools and gave around 24 LL credits. I think if CCAF were a higher education learning center some of the coursework would have been awarded UL. I'll give to them, CCAF made it tidy and awarded credit for everything, unfortunately at LL.

Unfortunately it was a USCG leadership school (NCO academy). My AF leadership school was worth 3LL creds, and was underwritten by the University Of TX. My MOS stuff gave me a few UL credits towards the Professional count. Not many though. Good luck with this, but like I mentioned, those ECE UL tests are not as unbeatable as they let on.
