Holy Wow is all I can say. That is awesome. I think for a lot of us (well me at least) part of doing it this way is that we are in control of our own success at this and man did you ever take control. Great work and congrats!

So I'm trying to close out my last semester at TESC and qualify for my BA (I want to submit application by next week - the deadline for June graduation), but I'm considering a BGB (Business: General) at Excelsior so I decided to make my last exam the ECE Ogranizational Behavior. That exam counts as upper level whereas the DANTES version does not (according to EC).

Ok, so I prepped like a madman for today's ECE, showed up early, and proceeded to screw the exam! I as so upset because I'm only 2 classes away from graduation, this meant I wouldn't graduate on time, plus this ECE exam cost $230!!!! (oh, plus the $60 for the practice tests - total spent on this exam is $290).

So I hit the road to go home when I realized that it was only 2:30pm... my normal testing center was open till 8pm. I flipped around, headed south for the 1 hour trip to Trenton, and called the testing center to schedule an exam on the way!

Long story short.... I took and passed the DANTES version of the same test! Now I was flying high.... so excited that I decided to try something crazy... I told the proctor that I wanted to take another test. She asked me which one, but the fact is that I was not prepared for any other tests. I made a quick call to my advisor, confirmed what I needed, and sat down to take TECHNICAL WRITING.

I cannot believe I challenged and exam without even 1 second of study... AND PASSED IT!!

Done and done..... One of the proudest days of my life - I have completely qualified for my college degree Big Grin

AMAZING!!! Congratulations. That's what I call thinking on your feet! I have gotten more than a little inspiration from this discussion board, and especially from stories like this. I took and passed my first CLEP today myself-by the hair of my chinny chin chin. A & I Lit.- I got a 50, and needed a 50 to pass, whew!!! It did not come easy to me , but it's done. Again, way to go on your success!! hilarious

Thanks everyone!!
Maybe I would have learned about 'testing out' without this forum, and maybe I might have come across 'passyourclass.com', or some of the other similar programs... but I have to say that the support and encouragement from this group is absolutely TOP SHELF. I was joking with my wife, telling her that I am signing my 2 year old girl up for an IC account... maybe she can have enough credits banked to graduate even before going to high school! Big Grin

My degree requirements are 100% completed, but I think I'm going to stick around for a while. I really am leaning towards that EC Business degree and I will want to rely on testing as well as the experience and knowledge of everyone in this forum to assist.

Again, thanks for all the support, encouragement, and knowledge of how everything works!!

That is truly amazing! Maybe it was a good thing you "screwed" the first exam. If you hadn't, you wouldn't have taken the second test, and you wouldn't be done yet.

What a story! That's really awesome.
