South Texas College's main Competency-Based Education page lists these subjects as coming to CBE in Spring 2024:

• Electrician Technology [STC's main page for Electrician Technology]
  

Whether these new CBE programs will be skills award, certificate, and/or AAS level, and whether they'll use modalities beyond basic online courses such as work placements, isn't currently specified. STC's main CBE page describes existing programs as 100% online, but it's possible that won't include some or all of these upcoming programs.

These awards, certificates, and associates degrees seem interesting CBE options, and they are specifically targeting trades...

I am curious how these course will work in a CBE setting on-line. When I went to community college it was for a similar subject, automotive. A majority of the course was focused on hands-on tasks, you may have been able to complete 50% of the course on-line, but half of the class time was in the shop. That is why similar to the HAVC program listed, the classes were 4-5 credit hours each.
