What are my options?
#1
Hi All,

I am new here and I and trying to pursue a BA in Criminal Justice from TESC. I currently have 52 credits from a B&M school. I did my best to self evaluate what I have left to go and came up with this.

3 Math Credits (I plan to use ALEKS)
6 Electives in Intellectual and Practical Skills ( I dont know what I can use to test out)
6 Humanites (Plan to CLEP)
9 Diversity/ Ethics (Not sure how to fullfill these either)
3 Criminal Law
3 CJ Research
3 Capstone
15 CJ Electives
and 27 Free Electives (which I plan to use FEMA For)

My main question is , is there a way to test out of CJ Classes or something like Straighterline for them? I know Straighterline only has basic intro classes and Ive already taken, Criminology, Intro to Criminal Justice and Legal Aspects of Law Enforcement.

Also, Is there a way to test out of Electives in Intellectual and Practical Skills and the Diversity/Ethics portion.

Lastly, is there another degree plan that would be faster/easier/cheaper

Here are my current credits

6 English
6 Sociology
3 Pol Sci
1 Kin
12 Dance
1 Band
1 Choir
6 General Education Electives
9 CJ
3 Geo
3 Gel

Thanks guys

CSU-Pueblo has plenty of UL Crime related self paced courses but they are a lot more expensive than CBE. Sociology > Division of Continuing Education > Colorado State University-Pueblo

You won't find enough CBE to complete a major in CJ. Fortunately you only need about 10 UL courses I believe (maybe fewer at TESC) and you can likely use free FEMA for the balance.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

I believe they are all at the lower level and around $300/course? ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training Interesting, but of limited utility when developing a Bachelors plan.

What about Penn Foster? Is there a way to JUST take the classes I need? It seems like you have to take the semester bundle that they prescribe.

There is a chance TESC will give you UL credit for the Propero courses. Their rule for not giving UL credit to LL courses only applies to community college credits. TESC will give a lot of UL credits for Penn Foster courses.

You can take individual Penn Foster classes. You just have to call them, request the class and pay.
