My University offers 3 CR for their MATH 101 - Liberal Arts Mathematics with a 50 on the College Mathematics CLEP
They also offer 3 CR for their MATH 110 - College Algebra with either:
a 50 on College Algebra CLEP or...
a Norm-Referenced 424 on Principles of College Algebra DSST
I meet my General Ed requirement with either one, and I have checked to see that I don't have any other math requirements that depend on College Algebra as a pre-requisite.
Should I just go for the College Mathematics CLEP for MATH 101 credit? Or should I shoot for one of the College Algebra tests?
What are the considerations?

College Math is the easiest of all the tests.

It would depend on what your degree is going to be in and whether or not, you intend to pursue another degree. In my opinion, college Algebra would better than College math as it may be more beneficial in the long run.

I would base my decision on math skill. How long has it been since you studied math? To what level did you study math in the past. If you are able to do the work of College Algebra, go for it. Heck, if you are able to do Calculus, go for the Calculus CLEP. There is no harm in exceeding the minimum.

Do what you like, do what seems fun, and know that CLEP College Math is the easiest. Remember to have fun and learn a little something along the way.
