Would you keep a part time job listed on your LinkedIn
#1
When the pandemic hit, my full time job got reduced to 10-20 hours a week.  I liked my job a lot and still like the people there.  But I can’t just work part time.  Luckily I was able to find a full time job at home.  And it pays better.   When I took the full time job, I wasn’t sure how everything would work out, so I wanted to keep a foot in the door.  Plus my son was planning to go there (It’s a catholic high school).  They agreed that my job could be done at any time.  So now I just work there a few hours a week, basically whenever I want.

So far, I never updated my linkedin profile with my new job.  I am really just not sure how to handle it.  Since I went to part time, I really only work like 5 hours a week there.  (And somehow keep up with quite a bit).  It serves mainly as a tuition reduction for my son.   Without some of the fluffy details, the jobs could seem like a conflict…. That’s why I hesitated to update anything.

Would you just end the employment date with the date you moved to part time?  or keep it as part time and add some of the fluff in the description?

I am getting a title change next school year and I would like to update my linkedin profile…. But I don’t want to appear to have a conflict.  My part time status a VERY VERY part time now.

You can specify employment type (full-time, part-time, contract, etc.) on LinkedIn. I'm not sure how closely anyone would look at that field, but you could also add something like "(Part-Time)" to the position title.

I'll second what carrythenothing suggests, use the indicator to note that it's part time, but leave it on there. You can also rearrange it so it is listed below your full-time work, if it's not already. I have my TA work at Georgia Tech listed this way under my normal day job. I can't imagine this will be much of an issue. Many, many people hold a second job or side-gigs.

Agreed. It's relevant work experience so keep it listed. I too have seen many people that list second jobs or even their own businesses listed even if it's not very "active."
