I cant comment on the AMU courses, but FWIW I was looking to go to them too, but when i sent in all my transcrpts they didnt accept as many credits as TESC or EC.

My credits were a mix of community college, military transcript, FEMA and Clep. Maybe they changed the policy though.

I looked at some AMU syllabi online and I could only find one undergrad course. It was a criminal justice course and there didn't seem to be much work required. There could be variances though between each instructor. Among the graduate courses, some required a reasonable amount of writing and others required a lot.

AMU's best department is history, so it's a good place to go if you want a history degree.

I've been getting my master's in military history from them. I'm really enjoying it.

The school itself has been great to work with. Very little stupid bureaucracy and headaches, they communicate quickly and efficiently.

The professors have overall been fine....only one guy was outstanding, but most of the others are decent. Only had one guy who was a problem--arbitrary, snide, unhelpful. (PM me if you want his name.) But at the master's level you can usually pick from among several instructors (maybe at the undergrad level too, not sure) and you can check some of them out at Rate My Professors | Find and rate your professor, campus and more - RateMyProfessors.com first.

I can't speak to the difficulty level of the undergrad courses. The master's courses have high standards but I have consistently gotten A's by dint of serious studying and hard work. And yes, I have felt that overall I have learned quite a bit.

If you want to get a history degree, just be sure to get the Turabian manual and have it always at your fingertips. It'll go a long way to making you look good. Proper formatting, style and footnotes matter and make you look credible when you do 'em right.

Here's my response from another similar AMU thread you started.

So do you think you finally settled on a specific degree yet. You went from wanting to be a teacher, to working at NASA, to being EOD, and from a BA in Sociology, Military Science, Teaching, Space Studies, to EOD, History and Military History. That is quite a list. hilarious
You sound very multi-tasked.

I recommend you finish one degree so you can get that Commissioned Status, then once you are an officer knock out all the other degrees you want. Like you said, you still have 13 years before you can retire. Take it one step at a time, the last thing you want is to not meet your original timeline of becoming an officer by messing around trying to earn 4 other degrees.
