Lit classes are generally based on "anthology" style works, meaning you buy a text with excerpts of work (in other words, you generally do not read dozens of whole books). If you'd like to see what you'd have to study for a clep, the Idiots Guide to American Literature is "the" book for the American Lit exam (6 credits). That book is a little hard to find, however, you might score a copy at your library! Flip through it and see what you think. That book is,literally, all you need. (no pun intended, but that was pretty darn good lol) Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP is not a content exam, it's a reading comprehension exam, so you don't need to know who wrote this or when that was written. You simply read a passage and answer the questions. So, before you decide against a lit clep, consider these two. |
