Hi everybody,
I'm trying to study Western Civ I as quickly as possible. Is there some way I can get into the former Version I? The version 2 is a lot slower to load on my DSL connection, even when I select "No Audio". It's taking too long for me.
Any other good crash-course ideas on how to learn the basics within a few days?
Thanks,
TuxSkywalker

It's a broad subject. The
Collins Outline is a great resource and it matches the exam outline pretty well. I took Western Civ I as a traditional class years ago, but recently obtained this book from the library as a refresher for my Ethics exam study. Also, the
REA guide is designed to get you ready for this test.
I've used several of the Collins books for exam prep. They condense a standard textbook into an accessible, easy-to-organize format. What they don't do is provide a lot of pictures, charts and other extras, so if those help you, you need to find them elsewhere.
Free University Project will give you some depth where want/need it.

When I took West Civ I a couple of years ago I used the Free University site and watched the first 25 or so episodes of The Western Tradition at learner.org. I also used Instacert but then it was still v.1.
