Taking CLEP exams without being enrolled in a College?

Alissa is Information Literacy a course you take directly from the school?

Excelsior offers it, but it's like $300. Many people take the Penn Foster course for about $90 and use it instead, but I think LSU has a course that fulfills the requirement as well.

And this is why I love this forum so much. Without it, I would have thought there was no alternative to shelling out the $300 for EC's version. $300 - $90 = 2 CLEP + 2 proctoring fees + 3 tall skinny hazelnut lattes.

I've taken six CLEP tests without bein enrolled. You can transfer the credits whenever you like, I believe, as long as you pay what is necessary.

CLEP transcripts are $20; each transcript includes scores from all the CLEP exams you've completed in the past 20 years.

DSST transcripts are $20; each transcript includes scores from all DSST exams taken, although I don't know if there's a time limit or if it's unlimited (like the AP transcript).
