RE: Degree Plan, help? I - Jonathan Whatley - 05-16-2025 1 semester hour = 1.5 quarter hours 81 semester hours = 121.5 quarter hours 94.5 quarter hours = 63 semester hours 81 semester hours / 120 semester hours in a bachelor’s = 67.5% of a notional bachelor’s 94.5 quarter hours / 180 quarter hours in a bachelor’s = 52.5% of a notional bachelor’s RE: Degree Plan, help? I - mcmctalk - 05-16-2025 I think the typical conversation is to divide the quarter units by 1.5 to get semester (e.g. 4 quarterly unit == 2.67) . So in your example, you're actually getting less credits via Purdue Global if those are indeed quarterly credits. RE: Degree Plan, help? I - infradata.it@gmail.com - 05-18-2025 Cherry on top update.... I needed a few cold showers over 3 days, a full blood transfusion, and use of the ever-smoking bottle... but I am waiting on a few touchstones, and ENG 1 grading, so I am just randomly doing science's (they are all milestones, and all the "health/bio" ones are super similar), until I can move on to Eng 2 ... then I saw my foe.... and felt over confident It was "not harder" than the full Algebra course... in fact almost easier, in a way, but more "esoteric" (for math) .. and confusing... but it was easier to "gut feel" "Die, Calc, Die" - Sideshow Bob reference ![]() Even demons die (05-16-2025, 08:32 AM)Jonathan Whatley Wrote: 1 semester hour = 1.5 quarter hours now thats a useful conversion "chart"... could get a spot in wiki maybe? RE: Degree Plan, help? I - infradata.it@gmail.com - 05-21-2025 So Far the "Worst" course, I have done online, that was a "me issue"... "Introduction to Relational Databases" on Sophia. This course required some actual "applied/practical, knowledge/ability, IRL"... pretty entry, but 100% expects you "too have the skills" (for anyone reading this in the future) / My issue, I "had issues interpreting their charts", I got every DB query and "informational" question right, BUT, I screwed up every Chart/Picture, but 1, in the entire course (over all, challenges & exams, thats 67 image pts I screwed up): I got an 88.35% (88.34782% or 508/575), the worst grade I have got in 20+ years (post my highschool education) ... I'm not sure if the images are poorly made/detailed... or if I was rushing too much (I lean to latter). note: "1 Milestone picture" represent "3pt score pictures" (challenges are 1 for 1pt) / It was a good refresher RE: Degree Plan, help? "Introduction to Relational Databases" on Sophia. I'm pretty sure it's because you're rushing it. It is one thing if the score is important to you personally, it's another thing in terms of transferring it to a school. Remember that those Sophia, Study.com, Coursera, and all other third-party ACE-providers just give you a "passed" grade on a university's transcript (for instance, TESU displays "CR" for those ACE courses). Therefore, your Sophia, Study.com, Coursera, and so forth "grades / scores" do not show up on an official university transcript of records. In conclusion, if you're annoyed, because you thought a school would put that grade on a transcript, you shouldn't be; in the end, all those ACE grades become "passed" or "CRed". RE: Degree Plan, help? I - infradata.it@gmail.com - 05-22-2025 Grey clouds get silver linings, awesome! (aka "good, I was worried") Great catch! RE: Degree Plan, help? I - infradata.it@gmail.com - 05-25-2025 been working on this "Assumed TESU Equivalents" list Edit: oops! I uploaded earlier list (now corrected) I will update it as I get more info RE: Degree Plan, help? That's why, it is pretty helpful when you send it to TESU as soon as possible. I'm sure they will take their time to decide how to deal with "new" courses. BTW, you will de facto become a pioneer in discovering new TESU equivalents for both Sophia and all the other Coursera certifications + IBM Skills Build certs! ![]() FYI: Workplace Writing II was confirmed to transfer in as ENC 02 at TESU. I saw a post on this forum a couple of weeks ago, but I don't have the link right now. A little research will do it. FYI2: You should put a date on your list so that people know when exactly you created this document - for future references ![]() FYI3: How about creating a similar list for your Coursera + IBMSkillsBuild certs? In this case, I see a lot of overlaps and conflicts / collisions in terms of very similar courses. RE: Degree Plan, help? I - infradata.it@gmail.com - 05-25-2025 I just updated list, as you were replying... / I will happily make other lists... when whey are less assumptions and half truths... I need more confirmed info... lol / Going over the course reviews, I find TESU students talking about mapping, many confused/contradictory, ... Workplace Writing I/II are abit confusing .. as are "labs" (are they even seen as "lab credits"?) / issue 3... "doom, bane and tears" ... "over, similarly, certified" ... I am hoping the excessive amount can divide into a quarter to third "credit hour value" when conflicting/same are mapped I hope to hit them with more credits then they normally map for a single student, to "over do it" / "pioneer" ..hardly.. I am the rat in the hold of your ship...the tick on your steed, I am everywhere (once I hear about it) RE: Degree Plan, help? I just found the post related to Workplace Writing 2 and it was confirmed as ENC-1020 Writing for Success 2, see https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Sophia-Workplace-Writing-II-as-ENC-1020-Writing-for-Success-II-at-TESU BTW, if I were you, I'd get more high quality RA creds.
