What's In A Name? - Muggle - 08-16-2012

My name is the result of a goof!

When I originally registered I accidentally made a typo in my email address so I wasnt able to get the activation notice. The first name was MereMuggle - a play on "mere mortal" Harry Potter style. Muggles are the non-magic people in the HP world. Shameless Potterhead here, cant wait until my kids are old enough to read the books together.

What's In A Name? - AlbaTiVo - 08-16-2012

Alba is Scottish gaelic for Scotland, the land of my birth. TiVo - well, I think we all know that TiVo was the original DVR - and IMHO still the best. I just put together two things that I love to make AlbaTiVo Smile

What's In A Name? - Lady Grace of Pemberley - 11-14-2012

*Bump*

One of my names is Grace, and I am a huge Jane Austen/Pride and Prejudice fan (Pemberley is the name of Mr. Darcy's gorgeous English estate in the book, and I would love to someday visit the real home, Chatsworth, it was modeled after). I like the elegance of having a title, so I added my favorite one, Lady, to my name. Smile

What's In A Name? - OtherSyde - 11-14-2012

I've evolved through several, from my early online gaming handle Savior (playing WarCraft II at 56kbps over a rusty old phone line in southwest Missouri in 1997... the pinnacle of gaming technology!), then on to VisionQuest during late teen/early twenties on several forums, and just a year or two ago I came to OtherSyde. It represents that I've reached the other side of perception, and also because of my former intense love of the Red Hot Chili Peppers that began many years ago when I first heard their sad, brilliant song, OtherSide. I substituted a y in place of the i because OtherSide is waaaay too popular a name on the internet. I use it on most internet forums and on Steam.

What's In A Name? - Nelson1798 - 02-11-2013

I chose my profile name (Nelson1798) because I enjoy studying the life of Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson, as well as the "age of the fighting sail" in general. The 1798 part was the year that the Battle of the Nile took place where Admiral Nelson with his British fleet engaged and defeated a far superior French fleet.

What's In A Name? - Westerner - 02-11-2013

The American West is my favorite geographical part of the US
I love the "Westward Expansion" time of US history
I live in the West
...thus, I am Westerner Big Grin

What's In A Name? - LaceyLady - 02-11-2013

I am not exactly a new member - been around here for a couple of years, but I realize that I have not posted on this thread yet. I love reading about everybody's names, some are quite creative.

My name:
I love lace, I am a lady, therefore Lacey Lady
Lacey is also a variant of my last name, and Lacey Lady is the inverse of Lady Lacey (my name with the title Lady)

I love how my username ties into both my real name and my love of lace. Smile
