IICSE University - cheap,convenient,not accredited. Any experience? - xicovu - 09-11-2020

I came across IICSE by searching "free online phd" and the were a top result. They $50 a course with rather small fees overall, and I'd like to get a PhD for personal enrichment purposes. I get the sense the IICSE is trying to be like the University of the People, educating people in Africa and Asia from what it seems from their alumni.
They are cheap enough that they are basically the same cost as Coursera. Assuming they do have altruistic intentions I could get behind putting there degree to my name in solidarity. University of the People had to go through a similar time unaccredited before it got DEAC, and having relatively successful alumni might help them.
Anyone have any idea on the quality of the material? Do the seem like the next UoP with altruistic goals? I can't imagine them being exploitative for such a low price.

Dude, Skip it, not worth the $50/exam, for example, an unaccredited Bachelors from them would be $2000 for 40 exams, you pay less than 600 more for a UofP Bachelors that's Nationally Accredited, so the paper it'll be printed on is much better ROI/Value.  BTW, It's been talked about on the sister board, here are the two main threads about it.

For that price, doing 5 exams from them ($249), would be equal to an Masters or MBA from ENEB which was evaluated equal to an RA Bachelors.  In fact, doing 6 exams from them ($299) will get you BOTH the Masters and MBA from ENEB/Universidad Isabel I partnership.  Do not look at IICSE at all!

Bummer. Capella/Walden PhD's are ridiculously expensive. It was worth a shot. I don't care about the career value more than the knowledge but if it's straight up not worth it I'll check somewhere else. What is ENEB?

Any overall advise for PhD programs? Strictly as a passion project more than a direct career credential, although getting a PhD out of boredom is definitely a marketable accomplishment.

That's somewhat why a $50 per a course PhD is more worth it then a $70,000 PhD. NA/RA/None isn't a huge factor for me, as long as IICSE has altruistic motives for it's existence.

ENEB is just an educational provider, the university you get the Masters from is Universidad Isabel I.  The sister board has two or more threads in regards to ENEB, we have a mega thread for ENEB info here, I would skim the last 15 pages: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-MBA-and-MA-at-ENEB-for-just-under-300

Probably the most affordable online doctoral degrees in the English Language would be in Africa and India, these institutions accept international students, the costs should be under 10 grand.   The PhD programs I am looking at right now are at UCN - it's all under 10K and should come in as equivalent to US when evaluated.

Here's a post I've done previously: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Universidad-Central-De-Nicaragua-Psychology
They have other programs too: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Texila-UCN-Masters-PhD-Programs

The Psychology programs are what I'm looking at. My Master's is likely to be Criminal Justice from NA Ashworth, so I'm hoping they'll take that. I don't imagine they make a big deal about NA/RA like they do here. Do we know of any cost/time effective MS Psychology in the states, NA or RA? I'm heading towards Forensic Psychology/Criminology.

I would go for a competency based Masters degree for cheap/easy/fast, it'll be self-paced and the ROI/Value is much better than the traditional route.
Here's a post of the program I would recommend MS Gen Psych or I/O: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Walden-Tempo-MS-General-Psych-how-is-it

I've debated on doing the following: TESU > Walden Psychology > California Southern PsyD (at about 30 grand)
However, most lately have changed my stance to Walden Psychology > UCN PhD Psychology for $8900 instead.

Yes, I've also debated on doing this: TESU > Walden MBA ACBSP > California Southern DBA (at also 30 grand)
However, now I am doing it this way: Walden MBA ACBSP > VUL DHA - I'll start it, but finish it when they have RA

I'm in the early stages of exploring the Cal Southern DBA, they allow up to 30 credits to transfer and I'm wondering if there isn't something there with securing cheap grad credits then transferring in - leaving 30 credits remaining at Cal Southern.

I think there's a way to make this a 20k, 2.5 year DBA from a regionally accredited school in the United States.

To put it into perspective the next closest from my research is a PHD in leadership from University of the Cumberlands at 26k - and even that is sort of a gray area of a concentration (IMO).

I just need to carve out some time to email them and feel them out on what type of credits they will take. I'm assuming it has to be a non-degree-conferred, RA, grad level credit in business. But you know what they say about assumptions.

IICSE's materials aren't bad, I've seen them. But I'm skeptical of what kind of direction you get, not to mention the fact that it's not accredited anywhere on earth, and they teach subjects that require licensing in every state in America--like Nursing--even though they are not properly accredited so that a student could become a Registered Nurse. I'm sure that can't be entirely legal.

I'd avoid this place like the plague.
