Credit Loading - FireMedic_Philosopher - 11-14-2025 Wanting feedback from folks that have completed or are currently involved in a doctorate... For an online program that operates with 7 or 8 week quarters, how many credit hours should you expect to take? ... I am talking with an advisor and hearing that 9-12 hours is the expectation (3-4 classes per quarter). I just think 12 credit hours in a 7 or 8 week quarter is a lot. This is a traditional (non-CBE) program. RE: Credit Loading - ss20ts - 11-15-2025 9 quarter credits is full time for a grad program. That feels like a lot for a 7 week term for a doctoral program if you're working. If you're dedicating your life to the program it's probably not bad. RE: Credit Loading - bjcheung77 - 11-16-2025 When you get to the doctoral level, there really isn't a CBE or option to 'rush' things, you've got to do so much research and writing... |
