Wanting feedback from folks that have completed or are currently involved in a doctorate...
For an online program that operates with 7 or 8 week quarters, how many credit hours should you expect to take? ... I am talking with an advisor and hearing that 9-12 hours is the expectation (3-4 classes per quarter). I figured it would be more like 6 hours (2 classes)... especially since I also work a full time job.
I have done 12 hours while working, but that was in a full semester-length format during my masters. Just worried that 9 or 12 hours would be too much for a quarter.
thoughts?

Hmm, only options to accelerate are the CBE choices, I recall one of the members finishing the South College DBA in 2 sessions of 6 months each, each session was $6K, so about $12K and 1 year. Traditional butt-in-seat options would not allow completing so many classes in such a short time frame... Link:

Not looking to accelerate anything. I just think 12 credit hours in a 7 or 8 week quarter is a lot. This is a traditional (non-CBE) program.

9 quarter credits is full time for a grad program. That feels like a lot for a 7 week term for a doctoral program if you're working. If you're dedicating your life to the program it's probably not bad.

When you get to the doctoral level, there really isn't a CBE or option to 'rush' things, you've got to do so much research and writing...
