Hey, I am new here and I am one class away from my Associates Degree. I completed eight CLEPs/DSSTs, two classes at Excelsior College, and have previous college credits. Does anyone here know what the capstone course is like? I tried looking it up and all I can find is the syllabus for it. I am very nervous about taking this to complete my degree. Any information would be awesome. Thank you.

If you already have all the requirements complete except the associate capstone, you could complete a no-residency, no-cost associate degree through one of the West Virginia Board of Governors AAS programs, and switch your degree program with Excelsior to a bachelor's program. That way you wouldn't have to take two capstones.
Post your credits and I will put them in a degree plan for you.
I am not sure I have everything necessary to graduate under the West Virginia Board of Governors AAS programs because Excelsior College is giving me life experience credits. Attached is my Join Services Transcript with all my previous college credits, USMAPs, CLEPs/DSSTs, and other ACE credits. I have a lot of duplicates. I am trying to figure out what other CLEPs/DSSTs I need. I haven't really studied for the CLEPs/DSSTs. I passed some exams based off of previous knowledge.

Wow, what a lot of nice credits!
I would try these at Pierpont because they seem to take CLEP English Comp/ DSST Technical Writing, and WVNCC requires SL/ Study.com or similar for Comp I and II.
They could probably find three hours of science in all those, but it might be easier to spend the $20 and take ALEKS Intermediate Algebra. That along with the Technical Math would complete the 6 hours in that area.
The CLEP A&I Lit completes the SS/Humanities, and you have multiple options covering your Computing requirement.
And with 116 hours (including the ALEKS) and 18 of those upper level, I hope you continue to your bachelor's degree.
Thank you for your service!

Thank you. I have been trying to obtain my Associates for a long time now. Things just keep coming up. For the Intermediate Alegbra, I have already taken the class at the Community College of Philadelphia and passed with an A. According to your excel sheet that you generated, I would be complete, correct? I will contact Pierpoint, but it seems like it would be costly to obtain a degree there. I read the price of evaluating the credits may be expensive, is this true? Thank you for everything again.

Pierpont is absolutely free for the Board of Governors AAS degree.
No charge at all, just get those transcripts over to them.
A poster in the thread above said their mom got her AAS from them no charge, and Ms. Nancy was extremely helpful.

Awesome. I am contacting her now through e-mail to see if I qualify for an Associates Degree or to see what I have left. I will post the results when I find out. Thank you.

"If I'm reading this correctly, the only thing I see missing for you to claim the AAS degree from the Board of Governors program is 3 credits of a Social Science.* The Intro to Sociology course you withdrew from at one point would have taken care of it.* Ha. *
If you wish to take a CLEP test for a Social Science such as Government, History, Sociology, Econ--then you can graduate this Spring.
Please fill out the attached and have your transcripts sent in officially.* Once your BOG admissions form is processed, then your transcripts will be articulated in to our system.* If you complete the remaining 3 credits (as I see it now), then I can fill out a graduation application on your behalf.* If not this Spring, then this summer or next Fall--whenever you meet the remaining requirement(s).
Thanks for your email.* I look forward to working with you.* Let's get this process started.
Please disregard any notes about "portfolio fees." *This does not apply to you; all your course credits have already been awarded.* There is no application or graduation fee, either."
I have taken a lot of CLEP/DSST exams before but I was wondering which exam is easier to meet my requirement. I would think Intro to Sociology would be easy but I think American Government I would be easy too. Some exams are just hard and I am trying to avoid spending too much time as my work load has increased.

Aww man, I took the Intro Sociology CLEP and got a 49. I missed it by like one or two questions, I think.
