HEADS UP! Transfer Credit Policy Change
#31
Wow..

Maybe rethinking my double degree haha! I have 18 finance UL and 15 Marketing UL -- SOS-110 which I'm currently in and Capstone. I will probably execute on Capstone for March 2021 and bank my UL electives through the holiday.

Get 'er done!!!!

We can still get our degrees we just have to change the way we do things. 90 credits is still a lot of credits and TESU is still taking courses from RA sources.

Sorry, what are RA sources?

RA = Regionally Accredited. Basically, college sources. TECEPs and UExcels should still count as RA credits. TEL Learning, too. Anything ACE is NOT RA.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)

This doesn’t affect the evaluation that has been made right? Or you

I would suggest that TECEPs and UEXCELs will easily cover the gap for most people. 6 credits for Cornerstone and Capstone, plus 24 credits between the two sources? I don't think it'll be a problem.

The sources include credit earned from military training and education on the Joint Services Transcript (JST), corporate training, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support Exam (DSST) and Advanced Placement Exams as well as credits earned from TESU approved educational providers.

If you have additional ACE/NCCRS transfer credit that you intend to apply to your TESU degree, we will still accept credits above the 45/90 provided that you submit your transcript(s) for all ACE and NCCRs recommended courses to us by March 1, 2021.

The question I have is, does it affect someone like me who is locked in? For instance, I have just three classes left that need to be transferred in (SDC and SL). Let's say I can't get them in before March 1st. Since I'm already an enrolled student will they still allow the credits to be transferred in, or not? I'm definitely going to email my advisor and see what she has to say.

If I have 60 credits from a university would I still be able to get the rest of my credits (the rest of the 114 total) from ace/nccrs sources?

yes, email advisor.

this is my interpretation, but I am not expert and don't work there.

If those 3 classes that need to be transferred in mean you have more than 90 total non collegiate sources, then it applies.  If the 3 courses means all of your transfer from non RA sources is less than 90, then the way it is written would suggest that they can still come in later.  But who knows what they really meant, right?

That's the way I'm reading it, yes, as long as at least 24 of those credits fit into your degree program.

seems like this would work for you:
60 from regionally accredited
plus 54 from ace/nccrs
and 6 credits from 2 required courses at tesu:  sos 110 and capstone.
assumes proper distribution of credits in degree....

This comes off really dirty dumping this on people just before the holidays. Additionally, it's not even a full 90 days. Especially when you consider the time it takes for the source to deliver the transcript to TESU.
