Final Assessment, number of attempts
#1
Hi all,
I got 3(Proficient) on 1 of 13 areas in the rubric for a Final Assessment. Rest are 4.
Or 51/52. Is this an A or A+?

The Assessment page now says 'Attempt 1 - Final Submission'. Any way of getting another shot at a perfect 4?

Thank you
/A

You won't know your final grade until grades are posted at the end of session. Professors have a week from the last day of classes to post grades. You get to submit a rough draft and then the final submission. You don't get to submit papers again.

I asked a similar question about the difference between an A and A-, but I can tell you definitively that your score of 51/52, or 98%, is a 4.0 on the grading scale as it is above a 95%. There is no extra reward for achieving an A+ over an A.

No 2nd shot at finals unless you failed 1st attempt. From FAQ:
If you receive an 80% or above on your first attempt, then that is your final grade and you do not receive a 2nd attempt.

If you're not really needing the GPA, stick to one exam to get you past that 80% threshold, you just need the 80 to pass, anything under 80 is a "failure" if I recall correctly...

You can't the exam a second time unless you fail it. Your score is your score.

That's correct, so just shoot for a "higher" grade by working towards that better grade with the assessments, assignments or exams.

so the course syllabus does not give any indication about letter grade conversion such as 46/52 is a B+ while 47/52 is a A- and so on?

Kind of but not really. It describes the grading for exams more than the papers/projects unless it has changed since March when I graduated. The professors have leeway and can give you a higher grade so if you scored 46/52 a professor may bump you up to an A-. Like I said you won't know your final grade until grades are posted after the session ends.

Many forum members are putting too much emphasis on trying to get the A and how to calculate the score to get the A... My focus would be switched to actually taking the energy, time to spend on reviewing your subject matter to get more knowledgeable in that by retaining information taught in the course. You can quickly think of the bare minimum score you need and the rubrics/scoring or requirements, but again, focus on "how" to get that, not the scoring itself.
