I am graduating this month with a B.A. in Film and Media, and I am considering studying for an MBA.
The entertainment industry is a significant business, and I want to have the knowledge and skills that an MBA offers.
Can you recommend any schools that don't require any prerequisites? What are my best options?
I would appreciate your advice.

I'm thinking about pursuing an MBA because the entertainment industry is a massive business, and I want to gain the knowledge and skills that an MBA provides. Do you have any advice for me? Can you suggest any schools that offer an MBA program suitable for someone like me who doesn't have any business experience?

Thank You!

Got your private message again... Not sure how I can help... Please review the entire thread, I can't decide for you... I've given you an option that's already mentioned in this thread, you're the one who ultimately decides. There are so many out there, I don't know which one hits your fancy or not... Review them all if needed.

Yeah, the other one I really like is the UIUC IMSM, if you get the 70% scholarship, you get a degree from a top ranked institution...

I have looked at the UIUC IMSM as well. How does one qualify for the 70% scholarship? I did qualify for the maximum Pell Grant undergrad.  I prefer an MBA but their MBA is 70 credit hours as I recall. With that amount of work one might as well push on to a DBA. I have never had a serious job. Would an employer seeking an MBA accept an otherwise well-qualified applicant with a Ms in Management?

Thank you! How do you apply for the 70% scholarship?

One more person curious about the 70% scholarship. Is that based on need, or academic qualifications, or what? Is it relatively easy to get or relatively difficult to get? Thanks!

Since those with knowledge about the 70% scholarship aren't posting, I did my own research. The AI powered chatbox at the UIUC Gies iMBA page responded to my question about the scholarship with this answer:

"Degree applicants are eligible to apply for a scholarship covering 70% of the cost of tuition. The opportunity to apply for these competitive scholarships can be found within the program application itself and will require an additional essay (prompt located within the application) To be eligible for a scholarship you must submit a completed application by the term's scholarship deadline date." The word 'competitive' suggests the scholarships are limited.

A previous thread suggested this scholarship was limited to the furtherance of diversity goals which probably excludes many of us. https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...cholarship

If you are talking about the scholarships at UIUC, they are need based. You must fill out the FAFSA and last I knew it required your parents to be making less than 40,000 a year. I have not seen this in writing, but I live in Illinois and believe they are really aimed at first generation college kids, since other schools including my alma mater have similar programs.

If you are a working adult, your chances of getting it are pretty low. You may still get some money, but it likely won't be nearly as much.
