First of all, I did not provide any "list of countries".

Question is trying to sow doubt that he's the person behind the website, but let's check.

It is an objective fact that the University of the People is not accredited outside the United States. Being "accredited by WASC" is irrelevant and guarantees nothing: the degree is still rejected, because those universities simply do not care about the University of the People, regardless of its accreditation.

I agree that the university is not actually run directly from Israel. In fact, administrative emails come either from India or from Africa, and they are often poorly written and full of grammatical errors. One can therefore assume that, although the headquarters are in Israel, very little staff is actually based there, since the majority are located in India and Africa. The choice of India or Africa appears to be driven by cost considerations, given that labor is much cheaper there.

I confirm: WASC is completely irrelevant here. Any country in the world can ignore WASC, and that letter is the proof. "Being accredited by WASC" guarantees nothing: if the school is ridiculous, nobody cares about "WASC".

The website's page on accreditation was archived on 5 Feb 2026. Today, 10 Feb 2026, that page now includes three new paragraphs. Allow me to quote two for comparative purposes.

Initially, UoPeople lacked any accreditation. It then purchased accreditation from DEAC (previously DETC) and later bought another from WASC. However, none of this grants international accreditation. In other words, the University of the People bought its WASC accreditation to pretend it is not a diploma mill. However, WASC accreditation provides no international legal guarantee of recognition, as every university receiving an enrollment application independently evaluates the credibility of the applicant's degree. And, in the case of the University of the People, that credibility is minimal, regardless of its accreditation status. That being said, universities desperate for enrollments will turn a blind eye and accept a UoPeople degree, whereas more reputable universities that evaluate the student's preparation and curriculum will reject it.

More importantly, during these accreditation cycles (self-accreditation, DEAC/DETC, WASC) UoPeople's reputation stayed exactly the same: an obscure Israeli degree mill staffed by exploited workers across India and Africa.

Question complains about WASC accreditation guaranteeing nothing and the workers in India and Africa. Then the website owner updates the site a few days later to include paragraphs with those same complaints. That's quite the coincidence.


Oh, sure, it's possible, but it's not probable. The obvious conclusion is obvious. Question is the person behind the website.
