I know I am a throwback but the public library is a great resource. I never, ever buy books. And if I want to re-read a book, I just get it from the library again. There's no limit. 
I love love love the library, and even get most of my study materials for CLEPs from the library. They also have DVDs such as Ken Burns Civil War, Vietnam, Standard Deviants...
