I agree that the world loves to pretend to care, with billions in aid and charitable organizations that only prolong the state of dependency. But I could not disagree more that the situation is hopeless.

As stable as the countries you mentioned are, who in their right mind would go and visit just to visit? Again just an opinion/question. Now you made me want to take an International Politics course LOL. Saying that those countries are "stabe" is like saying that Mexico is stable. You can believe that all you want and go visit at your own risk.
As far as prophet, it doesn't take a genius to see that regardless if they are "stable", it won't be long before corruption or some war-lord looking for power to take over. But I might be wrong, I hope. I will agree to disagree with you about the hopelessness about the situation though.
