Is the Capstone count as one of the required upper level courses at TESC?

My son's degree plan in Social Sciences requires 18 upper level courses. Does the capstone count as one of those and are you absolutely sure? Has anyone actually done this since the capstone requirement is new? Or does he still take 18 hours of upper level in addition to the capstone. I just want to be sure! He is close to finishing and I don't want to make him take more than is necessary. WE just today found out he has to take the capstone . HE is going to be done with his bachelor's while he is still just 17 years old, so we are still excited!

LIB-495 Liberal Arts Capstone

Provides engagement in a student-centered, content-related learning experience that serves as a summary and synthesis of courses in a student's undergraduate academic career. Students select an area of interest related to their academic studies and engage in an activity leading to a research project, creative project or applied project reflective of comprehensive knowledge gained in undergraduate studies and demonstrate their knowledge of the outcomes of the Bachelor of Arts degree.
