Where to begin?

I was just looking into other schools today for my self and came upon Troy University. They're a state school in alabama with a good reputation. They have a program called ACCELERATE for high school students that allows them to take online courses while still in high school. Troy also accepts 50% non-traditional credits (clep/ap/dsst/ correspondence, etc) which is fairly generous. I don't know if it's too late for him to do that program, but may be worth looking into. They also have some satellite schools on military bases in Fl, maybe he can get in one on a space available basis?

I know I've already put the idea in my daughter's head that she is going to be doing AP/CLEP in high school so she can be ahead of the game. I was hoping she'd get into the sciences, but she's has her heart set (at 14 yrs old) to do graphic design/publishing.

it's never too late! He may have missed an application window, but that just gives him more time to accumulate the accepted CLEP credits they'll allow! Also, there may be a few classes he can take at the CC that transfer in (save more time/more money) so he'll have something to do while he waits. He can also do a few job shadows, volunteer, and work part time. In the kitchen we always say "time to lean? Time to clean" meaning- fill all those minutes with productive results. I think it's a mixed blessing if he already missed the cut off- but even if he did, he's still coming in as a JUNIOR so he's ahead of his age-mates! Remember they are FRESHMAN!
