When you read anything about the difficulty level of a test, it is the subjective opinion of the individual test taker. Your mileage may vary. What is hard for me may be easy for you and vice versa. If you have a basic knowledge of math and are comfortable with the core concepts, you will do fine taking the college math clep, as it is not high level math (such as calculus). I am not a math-mind, but with a little review I managed to obtain a decent score. But not like others, who could go in and ace the exam without preparing. So it depends on your starting point. Only you can decide if you need to get your math credits from a traditional classroom setting or if you can test out of it. Do you have a decent foundation? Then I would encourage you to at least try it, it could save you lots of money and time. At worst you will fail the exam and then you can still decide to go the traditional route. Good luck either way.
