Received this a few minutes ago reference Decision Analyses "Overall comments: The submission provides a complete and logical discussion of Shuzworld's decision analyses. Nice job explaining that CPM is a precedence model that must have its steps executed in the appropriate sequence. Keep up the great work!"
So Decision is officially done! Only two courses left and I'm an MBA. By all accounts the hardest work is behind me, there is still a lot to do, but no Decision Analyses, Finance, or Supply Chain modelling to derail the whole program. I'm pretty happy with this. I worked on Strategic today and have a good bit of the first of three tasks done. Capstone meeting is tomorrow night and my little group of three is anxious to tilt against the final simulation. Theoretically I could be completely finished by Dec. 31, though I have through February to complete...either way I'm walking for graduation on February 8th!
Interesting things are afoot in the career advancement area for me as well. I have chronicled the sad affair with my immediate supervisors cancer struggle, I wish he hadn't gone out that way. But his position has opened up and I applied for it, all indicators are that I am the candidate to beat. We'll see how that turns out. Looks like two separate panel interviews then a discussion on compensation (I'm not willing to take it unless the pay increase is substantial). On top of that another interesting conversation took place Friday.
I have been helping a Dept. Director work on their MBA over the last few months. We have become friendly and he has been exposed to my MBA work as a result of the interaction. He brought me outside to share that he has a managers role opening up on the supply side and asked if I wanted it. It is significantly more money (about double my current meager salary)...good stuff indeed. And so much for the need to have a big school for networking, I'm working that out and playing the advantages of WGU and online education quite nicely...and remember the company is essentially picking up the full tab for this degree.
On that note, I have to remember to submit Decision for company reimbursement tomorrow, should have a nice check available just in time for Black Friday deals! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
