For trades: I am a licensed Electrical Contractor in my state which is typically called "Master Electrician" in other states. It took 4 years of Vocational/Technical high school (which counts as 1 year of apprenticeship time) plus 3 years of OJT and 1 exam to obtain "Journeyman" level, then another 2 years of work plus 2 more exams to become a Licensed contractor.
Because I have a trade license, I have never been unemployed. Every once in a while I think about it and realize that at 15 years old I made the single biggest decision to affect my life and I made a really good decision.
For Hobby/Jobs: I have been a Certified Flight instructor since 2001 and an Open Water Scuba Instructor since 2011. (Although these are hobbies, they have occasionally made me some money. However, I have not come close to breaking even on what it cost to obtain either one)
For true Hobbies with no financial reward component: Just hunting and target shooting
