This is a very interesting thought. Unfortunately, non-U.S. military members/dependents are not allowed to take CLEP tests on base or become a student at one of their four Universities (University of Maryland, Central Texas College, University of Oklahoma, Embry Riddle Worldwide). I called Ramstein and asked them and that's what they said. I know I can enter the U.S. base in Baumholder any time with my German military ID but apparently I cannot become a student. I checked out their programs and I am not really interested in any of them anyway. Of course, if a program would make it likely for me to realize my goals I would not hesitate to enroll. Embry Riddle offers a 100% online B.S. degree in Engineering Technology but I don't think it would be much better than Grantham, would it? Besides, the program curriculum at Grantham is more focused on computer hardware instead of mechanical engineering.
Thanks for the post!
I'll continue looking for affordable master degrees / hybrid Universities in CE.
