Thanks everyone, but what I'm really looking for here are personal experiences within a master's program itself. If there is a lot of reading involved, I'm fine there. My reading comprehension is okay, I guess (since I miraculously passed A&I Lit), but I'm wondering, are the textbooks written in plain language, and are they easy to understand?
My writing skills, well that's a different story. I know my limitations and I'm just not that good at writing so I'm worried about it. What if my papers aren't up to standard, what then? How do I resolve any issues with homework, if I ever get "stuck"? I don't want to be placed on probation for lagging behind.
Many of the school brochures mention working within a cohort from start to finish. From your experience, is it better to work with a group? I've always worked better alone, but maybe working with the same group wouldn't be so bad since it brings out the competitor in me.
I want the 'inside scoop' from those who have gone before me. I'm worried that I'll be in over my head, become frustrated, or worse, withdraw altogether.
Thanks,
