This has been mine as well.
Usually it means that you could just submit the final without answering anything and still pass, if you've got a good score up to that point (95% or better) and the final is 250 instead of 300. For the 300 point finals, you can still do extremely poorly and still pass if your grade up until then is good. 95% pre-final (665/700) you only need 35/300 on the final (12%), which is nearly impossible unless you're actively trying to fail.
