Dfrecore was a tremendous help to me, as well as many of the other dedicated volunteers here. What she helped me with worked. That's what ultimately mattered. Cost / method / time are all very personal decisions for how we get from a to b. I did a mixture of CLEPs, butt-in-seat, online, SL, PF to reach my goal. Course content and personal strengths steered my decision on method. Cost was not significant to me because no matter how I did it, the end result was still significantly cheaper than traditional paths. Total cost for me, start to finish, with 25 years to do it was $6,800 all in.
My point is this: appreciate the degree plans offered. Tweak what you can to maximize your own strengths, and don't listen to a random who shows up with nothing valuable to offer.
I guess you're referring to yourself! What you offer is vague "do your best" type of advice, and that's not very valuable. How would people know how to tweak things in order to maximize their strengths if they're new? How would people know how to maximize their strengths if they're given incorrect information? Was my advice to the OP to take the Natural Science Clep after his other sciences worse than Dfrecore's telling him(incorrectly) that he shouldn't take CLEPS at all unless you know the material? Add to this the fact that on the list for his degree plan were opportunities to learn the material anyway (like taking Natural sciences after all those other science courses), so she was contradicting her own point. What I offered to the OP was way more valuable than what you have. People offering advice and degree plans that waste time and money when a poster asked for speed are NOT to be celebrated! Look up all the old posts. Does anyone notice a difference between the signatures of the past posters and the many of the current ones? Where have all the "I'm done posts" where the posters were done in three months, six months, or nine months? I feel like people are going to pretend like I'm saying that speed is the most important thing and I'm NOT saying that at all, but wouldn't it help? Also, it's what the poster asked for, and he's being told about what's fastest and told to take what amounts to extra classes from someone who has been going through the process for the same length of time as people who go to B&M schools. ftsfour, I'm sorry you got bad advice, but don't take it out on me.
