FINAL QUESTION: So... Am I totally crazy for trying to pursue a biology degree this way (through TESU)? I'm thinking that all the money I save w/ CLEP'ing, ACE'ing, etc, for the core classes will make up for all the expensive science courses I'll need. I know it's a much more expensive degree than others (due to the science courses), but surely it will be cheaper in the end (and faster) than doing this through a four-year university - especially since I don't qualify for the Pell Grant & I don't want to take out any student loans.
Anyways... I truly appreciate all the great insights, guys!!!
I for one am confused as to your question. Are you saying that you're going to take science classes through TESU, or are you saying that you're going to take science classes at other schools (like Clovis or NMJC or RioSalado)? If you're saying that you're planning on taking anything except your capstone at TESU, then I think the CLEP/ACE/etc. will definitely not make up for the cost of those courses. TESU charges $1500/course for out of state, which is crazy expensive. But if you want to get the Bio degree at TESU, and take your classes at other less expensive schools, then yes, it's a good plan.
