LOL if I need to learn something, I will. I don't need a teacher or a tuition bill to make that happen!
A credential (college credit, diploma, degree, etc.) is a credential- learning is learning. 2 piles. Sometimes they overlap, but they don't have to. Some of the things in this world that I know the MOST about I learned on my own - some of the things I like to do (hobbies) would burn me out if I had to also learn them academically. We all get to choose, it's a beautiful thing. Take the 70, get the credit, and if you want more - go for it. If not, move on!
