[Ideas]

I would like to do a PhD for fun, read novels, and work on languages... I don't think I will have time for most of them!

I probably won't either. I intend to learn Italian and Spanish even if it takes me twenty years at ten minutes a day.

If I cull some of my studies (ignore war and novels), I'd have more time for linguistics, but a PhD still seems largely unattainable unless I'm willing to give up large swathes of my day whilst working full-time for multiple years.

I would like to do a PhD slowly, but I think most schools have some limit on years.
