SL is more textbook based, while Study.com is more video-based. With SL it is possible to get enough points on exams that you can get a 0 on the final and still pass. For Study.com, the final normally counts for 1/3 of the grade, and you need to get something like 55% on the final to pass the course if you get 100% on the quizzes (they tell you in advance what you need to score on the final to pass the course). This is assuming that the course is LL - if it's UL, then the numbers change somewhat, as there are additional assignments to be completed. Study.com has WAY more courses than SL (I think 112 vs. 56 last time I checked), and a lot more UL. Lots more choices. Sophia is too expensive in my opinion, unless you get some sort of deal - but I like the dashboard that they have, it's the best of the bunch. Doesn't make up for the price though. Saylor has some good courses, and some questionable ones. Lots of broken links, too much content to comfortably get through in most cases. But if you just wanted to take a course to try to test out (possibly with little to no studying) $25 can't be beat.
